Finally I’ve reached a point where I can write more of the blog. We stayed in a hotel the night before our hike down Crater Lake. If you don’t know, Crater Lake is actually a sunken-in volcano, its summit is Mystic Island. The hike down is extremely difficult and straining on the legs, but the hike back up is even worse. Though in the end, it was all worth it for the view and being able to do something that not many people can say they’ve done. I got to dunk my head in the water from melted snow that’s been collected for a long time.

You guessed it! That’s Mystic Island in the background of my parents’ picture together. Isn’t it so sweet and romantic? (Ew disgusting look at them showing affection for each other in front of me)
After our time spent by the water, we trekked back up. Needless to say, our legs were like Jell-O at the end of the hike. We hopped back into the RV, hydrated, and made our way to Ashland, Oregon, the home of Southern Oregon University.
We went to Southern Oregon University to see Dad’s alma mater and to give a good sense of nostalgia to him. While I don’t have any pictures of the campus, it was very nice to see my father enjoying himself. Many things had, of course, changed, but I could imagine Dad going to his classes and a small bit of his university life.
A bright full-moon ends the day, with tomorrow being a long day of driving. I hope to update the rest shortly for you all! The next post will be short and sweet, since most of the day will be spent driving. See you then!
