Custer’s Last Stand or Battle of the Little Bighorn

This morning we ended up waking up much earlier than we had been for the last few days. After spending the night at a campground, we took some nice showers and went on our way. On the way over to Custer’s Last Stand we made a small stop for some breakfast, which was in a beautiful building and area.

Then we made the short drive to our destination, The Battle of the Greasy Grass, as it is known by Native Americans. The gravesite is both beautiful and sad, with no discrimination on either side. Custer’s men all died in the battle, while the Native Americans won with very few casualties, considering the numbers. I did not take many pictures, as it is my belief that taking pictures of singular gravesites or a picture with either me or my brother in front of a dedicated memorial, that it is rude to the deceased. It is my belief that instead of being touristy and taking pictures everywhere, you should take time and appreciate the sacrifices made.

I highly suggest that someday, you visit this site and learn of the history surrounding the location. I will post more later today, so for now please tell me anything you have questions about and I will answer you as best I can!

  1. Did you spend time in/around the Beartooth Mountains? A guitar player at a bar in Cody WY sang a song about them and told us it was his favorite place in the world.
