Ah! Three more posts and the journey will be over. It seems like it all passed by in the blink of an eye. I’m glad that I’ve had to chances to experience so many things, and get a bunch of items from gift shops…! I feel a strong sense of gratitude towards my mother and father for making this possible, and I hope you all have enjoyed the documentation of our journey. It’s not over yet though!
Whilst in Louisville, we went to visit the Louisville Slugger Factory. If you don’t know, the factory makes bats for professional baseball players! They’ve made bats for stars like Babe Ruth, and sell at least 100 to almost every baseball player. There are three types of wood that are used by the company, birch, maple, and ash. The three each have different traits, maple being strong and durable, ash being more flexible and lighter, and birch being the in-between. Most players use maplewood, but each bat is different in some way, shape, or form. Most players switch up the model of bats, meaning different weights and handles, but one person has used only one model. The building was interesting, but baseball has never been one of my favorite things. I think I might have been able to get into it if steroids hadn’t been introduced, but I still think that its history is amazing.

Dad got to hold a bat that Babe Ruth used in a game and in practice! In was a beautiful place to see, and the process was interesting to learn about and see. We got some awesome souvenirs, and then went to visit the Muhammad Ali Center.
